Salisbury events guide w/c 29th August

It’s going to be a delicious week of temptingly tasty events in Salisbury! 

The city will be packed with foodie festivities as part of Taste Salisbury, plus we’ve got bear hunts, horse racing, art trails and summer fetes in store. 

We’ve put together the essential weekly events guide – here’s what you can do in Salisbury this week: 

Taste Salisbury 

What a delicious week it’s going to be! Taste Salisbury 2022 continues until 4th September, with a range of foodie events and special promotions to be found around the city. 

As part of the food and drink festival, Salisbury Museum is running a Pimms Week and The Rifleman’s Table has introduced the ‘Salisbury Plate’.

On 2nd September you’re invited to Rum & Drums in the Guildhall Square. Organised by Artisan Wine & Spirit Co, you’ll get to try some taste tipples and enjoy brilliant Caribbean music. Click here for more details and tickets. 

Craft Bar at The Salisbury Arms is getting ready to celebrate Taste Salisbury in style with a Beach Party on 3rd September, and Fish Row Food Festival (also on Saturday) will be showcasing products from four local independent businesses.  Maul’s Wine & Cheese Bar, Pritchetts Family Butcher, Premier Fish and Reeve The Baker will all have stalls packed with artisan products, samples and discounts.

Taste Salisbury 2022 will come to an end on Sunday 4th September with Foodie Sunday. Thousands descended on the Market Place for the event in 2021 and this year is promising to be bigger and better than ever! There will be food and drink stalls, demonstrations, film screenings and The Great Salisbury Bake Off! Make sure you’re there 10am to 4pm this Sunday. Click here for full details. 

Afternoon Racing

Salisbury races is back on 1st September, with what promises to be one of the top race days of the year, with lots of promising and beautifully bred 2 year old racehorses. There will be seven races, with the first starting at 1.50pm. 

Salisbury Bear Hunt 

You've got less than a week left to find all the bears hiding in Salisbury! There are 100 teddies to be found as part of the 2022 Salisbury Bear Hunt. Find them, put their names on the Bear Hunt form and hand it in before 3rd September to be in with a chance of winning prizes.

Stonehenge 

If you’ve got a budding archaeologist at home, you may want to head to Stonehenge this week because their Kids’ Dig and Summer Explore Quest finish on 4th September. You’ll be able to dig up the past in their special Stonehenge sandboxes and try to pull a sarsen stone! Book online and save. 

Discover Salisbury's imagination

Salisbury is a city bursting with creativity and its originality will be on show from 3rd September when The Salisbury Art Trail returns. The popular annual event showcases the work of local artists and makers at venues around the city and surrounding area. The trail, which gives the public a chance to discover the abundance of arts and craft here for free, will run for two weeks. The September date of Salisbury Arts Scene will be one of the venues on the trail. Make sure to check it out on Sunday 4th September at The Greencroft.

Summer Fete 

Summer wouldn’t be complete without The Bishop’s Summer Fete in Aid of the Salisbury Sudan Medical Link. The annual event will take place on Sunday 4th September at Salisbury Cathedral School, with an array of stalls selling bric-a brac, books, plants, homemade cakes, preserves and more. There will also be games, a tombola and a raffle to the sounds of the Amesbury Town Band and the Navy Larks Choir. It’s a great way to round off the summer school holidays. Find out more here. 

Go behind the scenes at Salisbury Museum 

Want to know more about Salisbury Musuem? Go behind the scenes on a brilliant tour that gives a unique opportunity to explore areas of the museum not seen by the public. They take place on the first Saturday of every month until October, so make the most of the two last dates! Find out more here.
