What to see in Salisbury

When the shopping gets too much and you need a change of pace, then take in some of the history of our magnificent city. You can't miss the cathedral but check out what's on for high days and holidays - there's bound to be something special. And do you know how many museums surround the Cathedral in the Close? The home of Sir Edward Heath - Arundells - is a must see for anyone interested in our political past or sailing, the Rifles Museum is something special for the boys and Mompesson House is a National Trust treasure waiting to be discovered. Or how about a matinee at Salisbury Playhouse? Jack and the Beanstalk is in town - you know you want to...oh yes you do!

Salisbury also offers a night to remember throughout the festive period. When the hustle and bustle of a busy shopping day has faded, Salisbury becomes a lively entertaining place with a diverse choice of restaurants, pubs, bars and nightclubs to suit every taste.

From early evening people will start to gather in the array of popular venues around Salisbury with the flow of entertainment typically beginning in Fisherton Street area which has popular destinations including Wetherspoons, Slug and Lettuce, The Mill and Moloko Bar.

From about 11pm the party starts to move across town towards Milford Street and only a few minutes walk along Butcher Row or the New Canal will take you straight into the heart of Salisbury's nightclub area.

With venues like The Chapel Nightclub, White Rooms and Voodoo Bar staying open until 3am you can dance the night away! A selection of take-away food establishments in Milford Street will be open until the early hours and taxis are on hand to take you back to your hotel.

New Years Eve will see a traditional Piper starting at Moloko Bar and ending at the Chapel Nightclub in time to see in the New Year with free entry for those in the procession!
